What we Believe
As a "Pentecostal" church we believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as evidenced on the "Day of Pentecost," are available to the church today and that these gifts are part of our arsenal against the works of Satan.
Further that they are designed to build and strengthen the Church as a whole.
As the Name "Calvary Grace," indicates, our teachings are based on "The Grace Message," of salvation.
Further, we believe that the saving grace of God is based on His character and His power not on our abilities as human beings.
1) We believe that the bible in its entirety is the inspired word of God and the only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and conduct. 1Tim. 3:16, 2Pet. 1:19
2) We believe in Christ's great commission to the church to go into all the world and to preach the gospel. Matt. 28:19
3) We believe that the church has NOT replaced Israel and that salvation is first to the Jew and then to the Gentile. Romans 11:1-12, Romans 1:16, Isa. 45:17-25, Jer. 32:32-42
4) We believe in Israel's divine right to the land as given them by God as an everlasting possession. Gen. 15:18, Gen. 12:7, Gen. 13:15, Gen 17:7-8, Gen. 48:4, 1Chron: 17-18. 16
5) We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that in Jesus Christ dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Col. 2:9, Deut. 6:4, John 10:30, John 15:26, Matt. 28:19
6) We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. 1Tim. 3:16, Acts 1:11, Rom. 8:34
7) We believe in complete salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and obedience to the gospel by repentance of sins and baptism by immersion in water. Eph. 2:8, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:35-39
8) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. 2Cor. 7:1, Heb. 12:10-14, 1Thes. 4:7, Rom. 8:1-2
9) We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit operative in the church of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:6, 1Cor. 12:4-11
10) We believe in the observance of the "Lord's Supper" in remembrance of Him and the New Testament in His blood. 1Cor. 11:24-25
11) We believe in the fruit of the Spirit and that all of the above must be accompanied by the spiritual fruit of love. Gal. 5:22-23
12) We believe in the five fold ministries God gave His body: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, " For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry." Eph. 4:11-12
13) We believe at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, "The dead in Christ shall rise first: then those that are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ for eternity. 1Thes. 4:16-17
14) We believe in the final eternal judgment, at which time the condemned will be cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:11-15
15) We believe in the creation of heaven and earth by God through the Living Word, which is Jesus Christ His Son. John 1:1-4
16) We believe in the necessity of giving our substance to God, in accordance with which He has blessed us. Luke 6:38, 2Cor. 9:7
17) We believe in the operation of the gifts by those known to the local body, of tongues, interpretation, and prophecy during a service, and based upon the principles of the New Testament. Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4, Acts 19:6, 1Cor. 2:10, 1 Cor. 14:5, 1Cor. 14:22, 1Cor. 14:39, 1John 4:1
