From The Pastor’s Desk:
Dear Friend,
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Calvary Grace Church Website. We trust that your visit with us was both informative and a blessing to you, likewise that you will feel comfortable worshiping with us.
Calvary Grace is a Church strongly founded on the study of God's Word, both in its written form and in its physical form, Jesus. The opening of the Gospel of John in verse one of chapter one declares that
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1 (NIV)
That "Word" is later identified as none other than the Lord Jesus Christ himself when John says;
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...." John 1:14 (NIV)
It is the desire of our church to lift up our Lord and Saviour whilst identifying and meeting the needs of our community. We are seeing the power of God move in our midst as never before. Because of the wonderful outpouring of His Holy Spirit we are seeing men and woman, boys and girls being saved and transformed as never before. John the Baptist came in the Spirit and power of Elijah, before the Lord Jesus began His ministry. His message, being a baptism of repentance for sins committed, is somewhat similar to what we are seeing as the return of the Lord draws nearer. We are seeing a great outpouring of repentance in the hearts of God's people followed by the real desire to have their lives reflect their repentance before God.
The days grow short and we feel that bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. We are looking to God’s timepiece in the Middle East, Israel. As we see Jerusalem becoming the focus of world attention we are reminded of the Words of God in Zech 12:2, when he says;
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about… Zech. 12:2 (NIV)
Nightly our news channels portray a world growing ever more uneasy as tensions in the Middle East increase and famine and plague sweep the world. It is time as believers in our Lord Jesus, that we begin to look up as our redemption draws nigh. Whether, it is days, weeks, months or years, the return of our Lord and Savior is at hand. Peter in the second chapter of the book of Acts makes the statement;
"This is that spoken of by the prophet Joel, 'In the last days I will pour out my Spirit...." Acts 2:16-17 (NIV)
Peter thusly identified this time period as the "last days." This being so, it is our conviction that these are the last of the last days and that the return of our Lord and Savior is at hand. Our Lord encouraged us with the words
"Watch ye therefore you know not the day or the hour when the son of man shall return." Matt. 24:42 (KJV)
We at Calvary Grace Church are indeed watching and waiting for the return of the Lord Jesus while enjoying the outpouring of His Spirit in our services. We hope you feel welcome at Calvary Grace, and that you will consider us your Church home.
"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." Num. 6:24-26 (NIV)
In His Service,
Pastor Philip Bloomfield
