What is a Drive-up Communion Service?
Not wanting to miss communion this Good Friday, but also wanting to protect our peoples health, we are going to conduct our Good Friday Service as we have been our Sunday morning Services. But with a twist! Instead of just parking round back of the church, as we have been doing, we are going to allow each car to make one stop and pick up their prepackaged communion. Each driver will choose the correct amount of juice and wafers and serve the members of their car without exiting the vehicle. At the appropriate time during the service the pastor will lead the congregation in communion and we will celebrate “the Lord’s Death till he comes,” together. All this while safely maintaining social distancing. Bearing in mind that nothing shall serrate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. While we may be socially distant for a season we remain lovingly committed to our Lord, our faith and each other.
Romans 8:37 -39 (NIV 1984) 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
